India star batter Rohit Sharma has just received a big honour, a stand at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai has been named after him. The “Rohit Sharma Stand” was officially unveiled on Friday, May 16, in a special ceremony attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Rohit Sharma Receives First Ticket

The 36-year-old Mumbai star, who recently retired from Test cricket, has been a key player for Mumbai and has led India to major wins, including the T20 World Cup in 2024 and the Champions Trophy in 2025. During the event, Rohit and his family were present as he became the first person to receive a ticket to sit in the stand named after him.

The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) hosted the ceremony and also honored two other cricket legends: former India captain Ajit Wadekar and former BCCI president Sharad Pawar, who now also have stands named after them.

Based on an image shared online, the Rohit Sharma Stand is on Level 3, Block A, and can be reached through Gate 7. For the upcoming match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Capitals (DC) in Mumbai on Wednesday, 21 May, the ticket for this stand is priced at ₹999. However, this price might change depending on the match or demand.
