On Friday, May 16, the Rohit Sharma stand was inaugurated at the Wankhede Stadium in the presence of several dignitaries such as Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, Sharad Pawar on the stage. It was a special moment for Rohit as his entire family including Mother, Father, wife and his brother were also part of the ceremony.
Meanwhile, the entire squad of Mumbai Indians was present at the venue. It was an emotional moment for Rohit Sharma as he firstly gave a speech and later invited his parents on the stage to press the buzzer to draw the curtains. Ritika Sajdeh Gets Emotional
It was an emotional moment for Rohit's family and his wife Ritika Sajdeh couldn't stop her tears as emotions overflowed for her on the stage and she got emotional. Further, Rohit also fulfilled the promise as he had earlier remarked that he would bring his parents for the inauguration.
"Usually they prefer watching matches from home because they get too nervous at stadiums. They don’t like leaving the house too much. I told them that when a stand with my name is inaugurated at the Wankhede Stadium, they have to come and sit in it," Rohit said in an interview with journalist Vimal Kumar.
Rohit's parents kept the promise made to Rohit and were present at the Wankhede Stadium. Rohit also had thanked his parents during the speech and also talked about the sacrifices made during his childhood days.
