Tennis legend Novak Djokovic expressed his admiration for cricketing icon Virat Kohli in the latest interview and revealed that he has been in touch with him through various communications channels.

Novak Djokovic is an acclaimed Tennis player with a record number of grand slams to his name. He rewrote history books of the sport with his unparalleled success and remarkable skills on the court. He is often categorised as one of the greatest tennis players of all time.

On the other hand, Indian batting superstar Virat Kohli is no less a GOAT himself. In the span of the last 15 years, Kohli shattered several records and scripted new ones with his inhumane hitting abilities.

The batter ruled international cricket until he hit a slump after the COVID pandemic. Regardless, Kohli has regained his old self and continues to set an example for the younger generation with elite fitness skills at the age of 35.

Meanwhile, in an instance of cross-sports camaraderie, Novak Djokovic revealed that he is a great admirer of Virat Kohli and that the duo has remained in touch via text messages for the past few years.

While Djokovic regrets not meeting the cricketing icon in person, he calls it his privilege and utmost honour to have had an opportunity to listen and speak to him via texts.

That being said, the mutual respect between Djokovic and Virat Kohli is not a rare affair. During the ODI World Cup 2023, the Tennis star congratulated Kohli on surpassing Sachin Tendulkar's all-time high ODI record of most centuries. He referred to Kohli as a legend in his congratulatory post.

Indeed, the heartwarming words of praise from one sporting legend to another speak volumes of the rare relationship sportspersons share in their mutual love for sports. Such instances of cross-sport friendships are essential to foster positive sportsmanship amongst the younger generation.
