Pretoria Capitals will be up against Paarl Royals in Match 6 of the ongoing second edition of SA20. Both sides played each other during their first match in the tournament, and the Royals got the better of the Capitals in their backyard.

The returning fixture will take place in the home of the Capitals at the iconic Super Sports Park in Centurion. Pretoria Capitals would like to make things equal with the Royals and register their first win of the season.

Meanwhile, the David Miller-led side will be eyeing to continue their winning momentum and make it two wins in a row in what will be a terrific start to their campaign.

PRC vs PR: Team Previews

Pretoria Capitals

The 2023 runners-up did everything right with the ball until the slog overs, where they gave away 10-15 more runs than what could have kept them in the game. Chasing above 150 on a sluggish pitch in Paarl was never going to be easy, and losing wickets at regular intervals did not help either.

Phil Salt and Rilee Rossouw were the only batters who looked like hitting the ball right but got restricted before they could do any major damage. Despite having a deep batting line-up, the Capitals failed to keep up with the required rate and eventually fell short of the target.

In the team news, there has not been any update from the Capitals on the status of their skipper Wayne Parnell, who missed the first fixture as he is still on his way back to full fitness from his shoulder injury.

Paarl Royals

On the other side, Paarl Royals must be high on confidence after kicking off their campaign with a win on what was an all-round performance from David Miller and his men. The Royals were put under pressure several times, but they managed to keep their nerves and themselves back on track.

Firstly, David Miller and Van Buuren made a gritty partnership in the middle order, which was followed by a brilliant cameo from Andile Phehlukwayo to lift the Royals to a competitive total. With the ball, every bowler got the best out of what was a two-paced pitch in Paarl and handed Pretoria a heavy 27-run defeat.

In the team news, the Royals are expected to go with the same but might look to add another batter, considering the conditions in Centurion.

PRC vs PR: Pitch Report

The pitch at the Super Sports Park in Centurion offers good bounce and early seam movements for the fast bowlers. However, once the batters get through the initial overs, it is nothing less than a paradise for the batting side. The team winning the toss should bat first and get the best out of the batting conditions early on in the game.
