Amid uncertainty over India's travel to Pakistan for Champions Trophy 2025, Pakistan white-ball format captain Mohammad Rizwan promised a rousing welcome for Indian players, including KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav. Rizwan was reacting to Rahul and Yadav's statement of wanting to play in Pakistan.

BCCI have informally declined to send team India to Pakistan for Champions Trophy 2025 and sought ICC intervention for a hybrid model. However, PCB has hardened its stand as they wish to host the entire tournament in Pakistan as a hybrid model will impact their revenue.

PCB also threatened to pull out of the event if the tournament shifted out of Pakistan. Meanwhile, ICC is trying its best to pacify the situation to ensure a smooth conduct of the big event.

Pakistan Captain Rizwan extends olive branch to Indian players

Meanwhile, Mohammad Rizwan was recently asked to react to KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav saying that they wish to play in Pakistan. Rizwan, the newly minted white-ball captain, promised a warm reception to not only Rahul and SKY but to the entire Indian team. He acknowledged that the decision is not in their hands. But in case India does decide to travel, he ensured a risk free and memorable experience.

Meanwhile, PCB and BCCI continue to battle it out. PCB has asked for a written explanation from ICC on why India is refusing to travel. On the other hand, the BCCI's hands are also tied as the central government will not take any chances when it comes to player safety.

South Africa to replace Pakistan as host nation for CT 2025

SportsTak reported that if PCB refuses India's request for a hybrid model, Champions Trophy 2025 could be shifted entirely to South Africa. ICC's initial proposal of a hybrid model was to let India play its games in the UAE. However, PCB stands firm on retaining their hosting rights. Not only they want to solely host the tournament but also threatened to withdraw if hosting rights are snatched at the last minute.
