A star-studded Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) line-up got bottled out for an embarrassing total of 113 runs. With this embarrassment, the Pat Cummins-led team have broke Chennai Super Kings' 11-year-old record of lowest score notched in any Indian Premier League (IPL) final - 125/9.

The SRH batters, who amassed the highest-ever IPL total by blasting 287/3 versus Bengaluru, failed to deliver on this season's biggest stage as KKR bowlers were all over the Orange Army in Chennai on Sunday.

For KKR, Mitchell Starc, Andre Russell and Harshit Rana stepped up on the big occasion, scalping mutiple wickets in the evening. Interestingly, none of the KKR bowlers went wicketless against SRH in IPL 2024 final.

Lowest totals in IPL Final

  • 113/10 - Sunrisers Hyderabad v Kolkata Knight Riders - 2024
  • 125/9 - Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians - 2013
  • 128/6 - Rising Pune Supergiant vs Mumbai Indians - 2017
  • 129/8 - Mumbai Indians vs Rising Pune Supergiant - 2017
  • 130/9 - Rajasthan Royals vs Gujarat Titans - 2022

In 2013, Chennai failed to chase down Mumbai Indians' total of 148 and lost the IPL 2013 final by 23 runs.

Nevertheless, the Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata will have to chase a paltry total of 114 runs to win its third title. On the other hand, Hyderabad will need a miracle if they want to script history in Chennai on Sunday.
