Indian stalwart Virat Kohli is the talk of the town once again, not just for his blistering performance in the T20 World Cup 2024 final, but for a viral video capturing him enjoying a well-deserved break in Barbados.

Virat Kohli unwinds in Barbados hotel after T20 World Cup win

Virat Kohli, who was named Player of the Final after a match-winning knock against South Africa, is seen unwinding at the team hotel, dressed in white joggers, a grey sweatshirt, a stylish wristwatch, and a light brown cap—looking every bit the star he is.

Following a hurricane threat that rendered Barbados' airports non-operational, the Indian team has been stranded on the island.

Amidst this unexpected delay, Virat Kohli has taken the opportunity to relax. The video of him having breakfast has spread like wildfire, showing Kohli making the most of his downtime in the Team Hotel.

Kohli's performance in the final was nothing short of spectacular. After a spell of poor form, he silenced critics and repaid the faith of captain Rohit Sharma and billions of fans with a crucial 76 off 59 balls, leading India to a historic victory.

Following the match, Kohli announced his retirement from T20Is, leaving the cricketing world in awe of his illustrious career. As Kohli enjoys his temporary break, fans worldwide eagerly await his return to action, expected during the Bangladesh Test series in September.

Meanwhile, the Indian team, along with its support staff, BCCI officials, and players' families, has been stranded due to Hurricane Beryl, which hit the island on Sunday evening.

Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley has assured that the airport is expected to become operational soon, allowing the team to fly home via a charter flight on Tuesday evening.

The contingent is expected to land in Delhi on Wednesday at 7:45 PM IST. Plans are underway for the players to be felicitated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
