Colombo Strikers are set to lock horns with Kandy Falcons in Match 3 of the Lanka Premier League 2024 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, July 2.
As the Strikers prepare to make their grand entrance this season, the Falcons have already taken flight with a commanding six-wicket victory over the Dambulla Sixers.

At the helm of the Colombo Strikers is the seasoned warhorse Thisara Perera, whose leadership will be instrumental.
The Strikers' bowling attack is their ace in the hole, with the likes of the express pacer Matheesha Pathirana, Taskin Ahmed, Muhammad Waseem, and the young prodigy Dunith Wellalage. Pathirana, who lit up the IPL for Chennai Super Kings with 12 wickets, will lead the charge with the ball.

Kandy Falcons
On the other hand, Kandy Falcons have already sent a strong message with their opening victory.
Chasing a formidable target of 180, the Falcons’ seasoned pros—Dinesh Chandimal (65 off 40 balls), Angelo Mathews (37 off 20 balls), and Dasun Shanaka (46 off 15 balls)—made light work of the chase, reaching the target in just 17.2 overs.
Shanaka also starred with the ball, snaring three wickets, while Dushmantha Chameera kept the runs in check. Though captain Wanindu Hasaranga had an off day, going wicketless and conceding 32 runs in his four overs, the Falcons’ bowling unit remains potent.
Mohammad Hasnain's expensive spell, leaking 53 runs for a solitary wicket, will need addressing, but the Falcons will look to build on their winning momentum.
