India’s dominating performance in the fifth and final T20I against England in Mumbai sealed a 4-1 series win, with a massive 150-run victory. After such a resounding win, the Indian team celebrated their dominance, and a special moment unfolded behind the scenes that left many in awe.

In a special behind-the-scenes video shared by the BCCI, India fielding coach, T. Dilip, introduced the ‘Impact Fielder of the Series’ award. As the team gathered, the medal was to be presented by India T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav. But there was a twist. Initially, Suryakumar walked over to Varun Chakravarthy, only to turn around and unexpectedly hand the medal to Dhruv Jurel, the wicketkeeper! Jurel, who had been visibly stunned by the gesture, could hardly believe he was receiving the medal.

Dhruv Jurel had limited opportunities in the series, playing in only two innings, where he managed just 6 runs. Despite his low batting scores, his fielding efforts were evidently appreciated by his captain and coach.

Speaking of the match itself, India came out all guns blazing after being put to bat first. Sanju Samson began with a bang, smashing Jofra Archer for a six on the very first ball. Though Samson couldn’t go past 16 runs, it was Abhishek Sharma who stole the show. Playing one of the finest innings of his career, Sharma blasted his way to a stunning T20I century.

Sharma set records with his performance, scoring the second-fastest half-century by an Indian in just 17 balls, and his hundred came off 37 balls—again, the second-fastest by an Indian. His scorching knock of 135 runs off 54 balls was the highest T20I score by an Indian. Thanks to Sharma’s fireworks, India posted an imposing total of 247/9.

England’s response was far from impressive. They were bowled out for a mere 97 runs in just 10.3 overs. Only Phil Salt showed some resistance, scoring a quickfire 55 runs. In the end, India’s massive total was too much for England, and they clinched a remarkable 150-run victory.
