India women are currently in Sri Lanka for the ongoing Asia Cup. The Women in Blue will take on UAE on Sunday, July 21 at the Dambulla International Stadium.

The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side are high on confidence as they beat Pakistan by seven wickets in their opening game. Smriti Mandhana was again on top of her game as she played a valuable knock of 45 runs.

Mandhana's sweet gesture wins fans' heart

Talking about Mandhana, she is not just winning hearts on the field, but her off-field actions are also garnering praise.

In the latest events, Sri Lanka Cricket posted a video on their Twitter handle, where they praised Smriti for her token of love towards a differently-abled Sri Lankan fangirl. 

Mandhana interacted with the little girl, who came to watch the match with her mother and also presented her with a mobile phone. 

"Adeesha Herath's love for cricket brought her to the stadium, despite all the challenges. The highlight of her day? A surprise encounter with her favourite cricketer, Smriti Mandhana, who handed her a mobile phone as a token of appreciation," tweeted Sri Lanka Cricket.

Even the girl's mother thanked the Indian opener for her gesture. Talking about Mandhana's form with the bat, she scored three centuries with the bat in the month of June and also bagged the ICC player of the month award.
