After the hosts Sri Lanka broke Pakistan's women's dream of facing the Indian side in the Women's Asia Cup final on Friday night, two of their key players were seen with teary eyes as the team headed back to the dressing room. 

Sidra Ameen, who batted at number throughout the tournament, was seen consoling her junior, Nashra Sandhu. The left-arm spinner, meanwhile, was evidently looking too emotional in a video that has gone viral.


In the second semifinal of the Women's Asia Cup 2024, Pakistan's batters showed tremendous zeal, posting a respectable total of 140-4. 

The bowlers also started off beautifully with the ball, as Sri Lanka was struggling at 19-2 after four overs. However, the home skipper, Chamari Athapaththu, took the responsibility on her shoulders, taking her side forward in the chase with a 48-ball 63.

But, Sadia Iqbal brought back the Women in Green in the game with her 4 for 16. In the fag-end, Omaima Sohail bowled a marvellous 18th over under pressure before Sandhu couldn't hold her nerves in the penultimate over and gave away 12 runs.

In the end, Sri Lanka crossed the line with one ball to spare, heading into the final to face India, who will be the favourite to clinch their 8th title.
