The Northern Superchargers are up against the Trent Rockets in the fourth match of the Men's Hundred 2024 at the Headingley in Leeds. The Supercharges won the toss in the match and opted to field first.

Adam Lyth and Tom Banton walked out to open the innings for the Trent Rockets. The duo gave the team a good start as they looked to be positive from the very beginning of the innings.

The intent was clear from Tom Banton as he played a brilliat scoop shot in the fourth set of the innings. The Australian bowler, Ben Dwarshuis bowled a full length delivery at the leg stump. Banton spotted the line and length early and shuffled across the stumps to set himself up for a scoop.

Banton's innovation at its best

Banton used the pace and the angle of the bowler to scoop the ball away over the fine leg fence for a delicious maximum. The shot was as if a photocopy of the English star - Jos Buttler who is an expert in playing this type of scoops.

Notably, Jos Buttler who was intially a part of the Manchester Originals for this tournament has been ruled out of the tournament due to an injury.

Coming back to the game, Banton has moved on from that shot and has played a veru effective knock. He has already gone past is half-century and is playing a key role in powering the Trent Rockets towards a fighting total in the match.
