[Watch] Rusty Theron Takes Cricket’s Most 'Unparalleled' Catch In LLC 2023

India Capitals speedster Rusty Theron bowled his side to an emphatic win against Southern Superstars in match number seven of the 2023 Legends League Cricket game in Dehradun. Remarkably, before showing off his dexterity with the ball, the former South African cricketer pulled off a bizarre fielding effort, one hat saw him complete a catch with the help of his trousers.

The incident occurred during the fourth over of the Superstars innings when opener Dilshan Munaweera mistimed one off Isuru Udana towards Theron at short fine leg.

India Capitals fast bowler Rusty Theron snared a rather rusty catch while being stationed at short fine leg during the initial stages of the Southern Superstars innings. Running in to grab Dilshan Munaweera’s mistimed shot, the ball slipped between Theron’s hands, only to land on his trousers.

Fortunately for him, he completed the grab to hand his new-ball pacemate Isuru Udana and his side their first breakthrough of the innings.

Following his uneven but successful catch, Rusty Theron picked up the key wickets of Superstars opener Upul Tharanga and lower-order batter Pawan Negi to finish with figures of just 2-19 off his four overs. His spell, coupled with timely wickets from Udana and Ashley Nurse, helped the India Capitals restrict the Superstars to just 163-6 off their 20 overs.

The Capitals later overhauled their task with much ease, considering opening batsman Ricardo Powell bludgeoned a run-chase masterclass with his 57-ball 100. The win marked the first of the tournament for the Gautam Gambhir-led side, as they find themselves placed at number three on the Legends League Cricket 2023 points table.
