With less than two days to go for the series opener against England, team India, led by Rohit Sharma, stepped out for a lengthy net session early in the morning at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

The stage for the high-stake five-game Test series between India and England is being set in Hyderabad as the series opener is scheduled for Thursday at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.

Both sides assembled at the venue last weekend, and ahead of the Test match, team India participated in a pivotal practice session hosted by team management led by Rahul Dravid.

Head coach Dravid has planned a three-round practice session for the men in blue, one of which one will be held indoors.

Having said that, for the first round, the team arrived at the venue pretty early into the morning. Battling the cold, the boys initially warmed up by taking part in training drills.

Post that, it was time for the skipper Rohit to pad up for the net session. He was later joined by Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal, who also took reps in the nets.

Later, Jasprit Burmah, Mohammad Siraj, Ravichandran Ashwin, and a couple of more bowlers practiced as Rohit and co. monitored the progress on the sidelines.

Notably, uncapped player Dhruv Jurel was also captured practicing behind the stumps. He is in contention for the wicket-keeping role in case KL Rahul moves up the order in the absence of Virat Kohli.

Speaking of Indian batting's backbone, Virat Kohli has withdrawn from the first two Tests, citing unavoidable personal reasons.

Moreover, the BCCI has yet to name a replacement for him.

Regardless, the Indian cricket team was seen in good spirits at the recently concluded practice session. The advantage of the home condition has fueled a greater level of confidence in the home side as they gear up to take on the ultra-aggressive English side.
