Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has long been a force to be reckoned with, especially with the red ball, as he has disrupted the innings of many top-quality batters with his skills and variations in the longest and toughest format of the game.

Playing a crucial role in the past, Bumrah will once again be at the forefront when he plays against England in the upcoming five-match Test series that begins on January 25 as the famous 'Bazball' ideology of cricket is set to be tested for the first time in turning conditions.

The right-armer, speaking to The Guardian, expressed that he doesn't really get along with the term used to describe a style of cricket played at a faster rate than usual and was coined after England's head coach Brendon McCullum joined the side back in 2022.

However, he added that despite him not being so well versed in Bazball, it has been working for the English side since they have managed to conquer different sides at different stages in the past.

"I don't really relate to the term Bazball. But they are playing successful cricket and the aggressive route of taking the opposition on, showing the world there's another way to play Test cricket," Bumrah said.

Moreover, Bumrah was of the view that it could, in fact, be beneficial to him, considering wickets could be relatively easy to acquire since the batters would be going after him, meaning that he would always be in the game.

"As a bowler, what I think is that it keeps me in play. And if they're going for it, playing so fast, they won't tire me out, I could get heaps [of wickets]. I always think about how I can use things to my advantage. Kudos to them but, as a bowler, you're in the game."

India and England begin their five-match grind in Hyderabad on the 25th as both sides will look to stay ahead of each other in the game with an early lead in the series.
