India’s recent dismal performance at SuperSport Park in Centurion against South Africa sparked a lot of debate around the world. Their overall disappointing efforts resulted in them losing by an innings and 32 runs in the Boxing Day Test.

However, among the few good things that happened for India, the one that stood out the most was how Virat Kohli batted in the final innings despite receiving any support from his teammates. In an innings where no player barring Shubman Gill (26) touched double digits, Kohli made a hard-fought 82-ball 76 before eventually losing his wicket as the last man.

India’s all-format captain Rohit Sharma acknowledged Kohli’s supreme effort in order to take the game long. So, as Kohli was making his way back to the pavilion, fans of the game were in awe when Rohit came outside and applauded him.
