Comical run-outs are nothing new in cricket, as they often happen at the grandest level of the game. However, you never expect such things to happen when two of the seasoned campaigners, such as Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah, are in the middle.

At SuperSport Park, Centurion, India are moments away from suffering a humiliating defeat against South Africa in the first Test of the two-match series. Virat Kohli has been doing as much as he can to take the game long, but there are no realistic chances for India to escape. In the meantime, an unfortunate runout happened, leaving Jasprit Bumrah frustrated and angry.

It all happened when Kohli played Kagiso Rabada’s good length delivery towards extra cover for a quick two. Bumrah did not expect that after completing the first run, and thus, a quick throw from Dean Elgar at the non-strikers’ end left him well short of the crease before Rabada broke the stumps.

Bumrah was absolutely livid at Kohli and kept on looking at him quite a few times while returning to the pavilion. Kohli, on the other hand, looked helplessly at his partner, as India’s wickets fell like a pack of cards in the second innings.
