Indian captain Rohit Sharma joined the growing trend of cricketers attending a Wimbledon Championship match in London. Earlier this month, legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar and Australia’s active ODI and Test skipper Pat Cummins also attended the sporting event.

Notably, prior to the match, Rohit Sharma rightfully predicted defending champion Carlos Alcaraz and Serbian tennis legend Novak Djokovic to reach the men’s singles final.

A couple of weeks after guiding Team India to a historic 2024 T20 World Cup win in the West Indies, ‘Men in Blue’ captain Rohit Sharma attended the semifinals of the 2024 Wimbledon in London.

While speaking on the Star Sports Network prior to the match, Sharma rightfully predicted Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic to reach the finals of the men’s singles championship.

On the cricketing front, Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from T20Is after leading Team India to a 2024 T20 World Cup win over South Africa in Barbados on June 29.

In the semifinals of the tournament, the dashing opening batter punched out a match-winning 57 against defending champions England in Providence. During India’s Super Eight match against Australia, Sharma also pounded 92 runs from just 41 deliveries in a winning cause.

As of now, the 37-year-old will reportedly be rested from India’s squad for their upcoming white-ball tour of Sri Lanka. He will likely return to international action for Team India’s home series against Bangladesh in September.
