In a recent interview with The Daily Mail on Thursday, July 11, legendary West Indies cricketer Brian Lara revealed possible players who can break his famous 400 record in Test cricket.

Looking at the recent records and talent, Brian Lara suggested the names of two Indian players - Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal. The legendary cricketer stated that the two Indian dynamic players have the capability and ability to break his most-celebrated 400 record in Test cricket.

Brian Lara Names Two Indian Players That Have The Potential To Break His 400 Record

"How many aggressive players do you have playing today? Especially in the England team. Zak Crawley and Harry Brook. Maybe in the Indian team? Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill. If they find the right situation, the records could be broken – both of them," Lara said to The Daily Mail.

Brian Lara scored 400 runs in an innings against England and that remains the highest individual score with no active cricketer threatening to break it.

He etched his name in the record books when he played an unbeaten 400 off just 582 balls in the first innings of the fourth Test match against England at Antigua Recreation Ground in St John's in April 2004.

Earlier this record was held by Matthew Hayden, who scored 380 and became the first-ever cricketer to reach the 400-run mark in any format of the game.

Shubman Gill's highest score to date is 128, on the other hand, Jaiswal has already scored two double centuries in his nine-Test career so far. In total, Jaiswal has scored 3 hundred and 4 fifties in his 1028 runs that have come at an average of 68.53 with a highest of 214 not out.

Gill, meanwhile, has played 25 Tests so far and scored 1492 runs at an average of 35.52, including 4 hundreds and 6 fifties.
