Rohit Sharma will go down as one of the finest white-ball captains and recently led India to the T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy titles. The Maharashtra Cricket Association has now decided to honour their beloved son, and a stand has been named after the legendary Mumbai cricketer at the Wankhede.

Rohit Sharma's parents, wife and MI players were all present during the event, and his wife Ritika Sajdeh got emotional. She was seen wiping her tears as everyone clapped and celebrated the great honour of one of the finest Indian cricketers, Rohit Sharma.
Along with Rohit Sharma and his family, many big names from Maharashtra and Mumbai cricket where present for the ceremony. Sharad Pawar, one of the biggest names in the Indian politics was also honoured for his contribution to Indian and Mumbai cricket and a stand by his name was inaugurated. Ajit Wadekar, another Indian legendary captain was also honoured with a stand of his name at the Wankhede Stadium.
The Maharashtra CM, Devendra Fadnavis was also present during the ceremony, and overall it was a celebration of Mumbai cricket and its contribution to the game of cricket. As far as Rohit Sharma is concerned, he has recently retired from Test cricket and is now available for only ODIs.
Rohit Sharma first made an impression as a teenager in Mumbai age-group cricket and made a swift rise in Indian cricket because of his talent and class. He currently has 49 international centuries and is still going strong in IPL for MI.
