Ravichandran Ashwin and controversy are never far away from each other. Ashwin, who has been vocal for the 'Mankad' dismissal, was at the receiving end during a TNPL game on Sunday.

The incident occurred during the 15th over of the Dindigul Dragons Vs Nellai Royal Kings TNPL clash. Ashwin was backing up at the non strikers end when the bowler stopped mid-way through his run-up and and warned the Dindigul captain about prematurely leaving the crease.

Ashwin hits back at commentators

The replays showed that R Ashwin's bat was inside the line when the bowler stopped to warn him. However, it slid past just to be on the line and it once again went back inside the crease.

The Indian spin bowler replied to an X post by a user, who stated that he would have still been not-out, even if the bowler had dislodged the bails.

Ashwin, agreeing to the user shared a screenshot of an old version of run-out at the non strikers end law, which states:

"Law 38.3, which pertains to the 'Non-striker leaving his/her ground early,' states: 'At any time from the moment the ball comes into play until the instant when the bowler would normally have been expected to release the ball, the non-striker is liable to be Run out if he/she is out of his/her ground."

After the message, he also shared a laughing emoji, with a message 'They don't know the rule,' seemingly taking a dig at commentators.

Ashwin had an average outing for his side, Dindigul Dragons. The skipper was run-out for a 13-ball 15 as his team were bundled out for a meagre 136.
