Pakistan's new look T20 squad's training camp for the highly anticipated New Zealand tour began on March 7 in Lahore. The players assembled at the Lahore City Cricket Association ground for training drills.

Pakistan cricket has hit a new low, getting eliminated from the Champions Trophy 2025 group stages. They were hosting the tournament after 29 years but unfortunately became the first team to see the exit doors.Hence, in the aftermath of the shambolic performance, PCB made a few radical changes in the T20 set-up.

PCB selected a new look team for the upcoming T20 series against New Zealand. Seniors like Mohammad Rizwan, Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi have been dropped, with Salman Agha given the captaincy reigns.

The five-game T20I series will begin from March 16 followed by a three-game ODI series. Hence, ahead of the big assignment, Pakistan hosted a four-day training camp in Lahore.

The selected players will undergo intensive training sessions during the four-day camp, fine-tuning their skills and strategies before departing for New Zealand on March 12.

In a clip that's making rounds on social media, the players were observed working on fielding drills under the floodlights of the Lahore City Cricket Association ground.

With consecutive disappointing performances in ICC tournaments, Pakistan is looking to rebuild their cricket and remain competitive before it is too late to catch up.

Blame Game In Pakistan Cricket After Champions Trophy Debacle

Pakistan’s 2025 Champions Trophy campaign ended in disaster, as the host nation failed to secure a single victory, crashing out of the group stage.

During a press conference, Pakistan’s interim head coach, Aaqib Javed, openly blamed the pace duo of Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf for the team’s disastrous campaign.

He opined that Dubai and Karachi are two places where pacers should have had some swing but Shaheen and Rauf weren’t able to execute their plans. He added that he has spoken to both the bowlers and advised them to work on their skill sets.
