New Zealand's Win Confirms Group-A Semifinalists

With this clinical victory, New Zealand confirmed their qualification for the Champions Trophy semifinals. The BlackCaps' resounding win also made things easier for India, as the Men in Blue entered the semis with one game left.

India and New Zealand qualified for the next round with two successive wins. Meanwhile, Pakistan and Bangladesh suffered a group-stage exit from the tournament following New Zealand's win. It's worth mentioning that both these teams will face each other in their final group-stage encounter, which is nothing but a dead-rubber.

Which Team Will India Play In Champions Trophy Semifinal?

Although New Zealand and India qualified for the Champions Trophy semifinals, their opponents for the knockout fixtures have yet to be decided. These two sides will clash on March 2 in a high-voltage clash, the winner of which will claim the top position in the group-A standings.

The top-ranked team of group-A will take on the second-placed side of the other group in the semifinal and vice-versa. In such a scenario, India will keep an eye on the upcoming group-B fixtures in order to have an idea of their potential semifinal opponents.

Regarding group-B, Australia will face South Africa tomorrow, with Afghanistan taking on England the day after. The high-octane face-off between Australia and Afghanistan will be played on February 28, while South Africa will cross swords against England on March 1.
