The Netherlands team have delivered the second upset of the World Cup 2023 and defeated South Africa. With the limited preparations and limited resources, they have been doing their best in this World Cup. During the match, the Dutch players were seen using notes for the specific batters.

The rain in Dharamshala resulted in a 43-over per side. Despite losing a few early wickets, the Netherlands bounced back as their captain, Scott Edwards played a blistering knock of 78 not and with a cameo from Aryan Dutt, they managed to put up a fighting total of 245 in 43 overs.

When it came to bowling, the Dutch had plans for each of the Proteas' batters and executed them pretty well to pluck out four wickets in just 12 overs. With van der Merwe's excellent spell against his former team, the Dutch have managed to dominate throughout the game.

Here's the video of Max O'Dowd revising plans from a piece of paper during the game

When it comes to preparing for the games, all of the teams analyse the opponents and make plans accordingly. But not everyone executes their plans well enough to stand out their opponents or the situation does not help them.

The Dutch tonight were quite amazing with their execution and knew what bowlers to use against which batters. The Dutch carried handwritten notes with them to stick to their plans and execute them perfectly and this isn't the first time they have done this.

Max Odowd, before the wicket of Marco Jansen, read the notes he carried along with him in between the overs and showed it to the captain, Scott Edwards as well. The result being, that they managed to get wickets which means they were successful in executing their plans. Another upset in the World Cup 2023 and the Netherlands defeated the South African team.
