David Miller is one of the most fearsome finishers in world cricket and has over the years, pulled off many fantastic heist from hopeless situations. However, when South Africa needed him against the Netherlands on the big stage of World Cup, he has failed to finish the task and was cleaned up on 43, in the 31st over, leaving South Africa high and dry.

It was the 31st over of South Africa's innings and with the Proteas already six down, they needed Miller to bat till the end. However, the hopes were shattered when the southpaw tried to launch a shortish delivery from Log van Beek out of the park and ended up missing it completely to see his off stump going for a ride.

South Africa were chasing 246 in 43 overs and just could not find any momentum in their chase and after the wicket of David Miller, things kept getting darker and darker as Netherlands pulled off a win for the ages. 

This is the first loss for South Africa in World Cup 2023 after they notched up comprehensive win against Sri Lanka and Australia.
