In a one-sided affair, MI New York (MINY) dismantled Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR) for just 50 in the ongoing Major League Cricket (MLC) 2023 to notch their maiden win of the season.

Captained by Kieron Pollard, MINY scored 155 runs, thanks to knocks from Nicholas Pooran (38) and Tim David (48*), before bowlers wrecked the LAKR lineup. Pollard, who rarely bowls, claimed two crucial wickets of Unmukt Chand (26) and Andre Russell (2) in one over, drowning Knight Riders' hope down the drain.

However, the highlight was Pollard's celebration after dismissing his former West Indies teammate Russell for the third time in his long and illustrious T20 career. 

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder managed to nick the ball to the keeper while attempting a pull shot much to the delight of the MINY captain. Pollard was seen mimicking Manchester City striker Erling Haaland's famous yoga pose celebration.

With two losses, LAKR's chances of the playoffs look bleak, while MINY with one win and as many losses are in the hunt, with only three matches remaining for both teams, respectively. 

Russell fondly known as 'Dre Russ' did not have the best of times in the match, scoring two and getting clobbered for 28 runs in two overs.
