In a breathtaking display that rekindled the echoes of yesteryears, seasoned all-rounder, Dwayne Bravo unleashed a storm in the Major League Cricket (MLC) clash on Sunday.

Bravo rewinds time with colossal 106-metre six

The stage was set for the Texas Super Kings veteran against Washington Freedom and the crowd was hooked in the spectacle when Bravo's blade met Anrich Nortje's pacey delivery that resulted in a mammoth six that spanned a breathtaking 106 metres.

Drawing from his rich heritage as a stalwart for the parent franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Bravo's audacious batting took the spotlight once again. His unbeaten 75 off 39 balls bore a striking resemblance to his miraculous innings against Mumbai Indians in the 2018 IPL opener, a contest that had seen him singlehandedly snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

Bravo's 106-metre feat of raw power came as a brilliant display of his power-hitting capabilities. Anrich Nortje bowled a short ball which Bravo anticipated and demolished, effectively propelling the ball out of the park. This shot, one of Bravo's massive hits sent waves of excitement coursing through the spectators and left the social media buzzing.

However, despite Bravo's assault, TSK was defeated in the contest by a paltry six runs which marked their first loss in the competition. Chasing a target of 164, the team saw a collapse, plunging to 50/5 before Bravo's individual brilliance provided a glimmer of hope. Although the all-rounder's heroics fell short of a miraculous comeback, they did not fail to entertain the fans.

Prior to this match, TSK had started their season with a bang, clinching a 69-run victory against the Los Angeles Knight Riders. Bravo had a great outing in the game, with a brisk cameo of 16 not out off just five balls and a crucial wicket of fellow West Indian, Andre Russell.
