With the Asia Cup 2023 nearing, the Asian Cricket Council is busy making final adjustments to the schedule, with the tournament set to take place across two nations - Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

The Asia Cup 2023 is scheduled to start on August 13 and end on September 17, with six Asian teams participating — India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal.

Arch-rivals India and Pakistan are expected to clash at least two times in the competition, once in the group match and once in the second stage. As per Cricket Pakistan, the first encounter will be played on September 2, while the second tie is expected to be held on September 10.

The venues for both matches are yet to be decided, with Colombo, Dambulla and Kandy in contention.

The tournament opener will be played in Multan, with hosts Pakistan taking on Nepal. The second venue in Pakistan is expected to be Lahore. Pakistan will play one home game and then fly off to Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan will play their group matches in Pakistan before shifting base to the Island nation. The schedule is expected to be announced on Monday.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Cricket Board's Chief Operating Officer (COO), Salman Naseer, has been appointed tournament director.

Currently, India and Pakistan are engaged in tours of the West Indies and Sri Lanka, respectively.
