Match 6 of the ongoing Major League Cricket (MLC) 2023 witnessed a colossal disappointment from the Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR), who folded for 50 while chasing 156 against MI New York.

This is also the lowest-ever score registered by a franchise owned by Knight Riders, which also runs the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Indian Premier League (IPL), Trinbago Knight Riders in Caribbean League (CPL), and Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in International League T20 (T20).

KKR's lowest score is 67, which came against Mumbai Indians in 2008; TKR's lowest is 111, which came in 2015, while ADKR's lowest is 114, which came in the inaugural season this year.

Chasing 156, only former India Under-19 captain Unmukt Chand managed to get into double digits (26), as others failed to cross 10. Star players like Martin Guptill (0), Rilee Rossouw (2), Andre Russell (2), and skipper Sunil Narine (2) all failed to live up to the expectations, contributing to MINY's massive 105-run win.

All bowlers, including Trent Boult, Kagiso Rabada, and Kieron Pollard, claimed two wickets apiece for MINY.

Earlier, Nicholas Pooran and Tim David guided MI NY out of a hole and took their score past 150 runs. David slammed a quick-fire 48 off 21, while for LAKR, Ali Khan, Corne Dry, and Adam Zampa picked two wickets each.

With two losses in as many games, LAKR occupy the bottom position, while MI NY, with one win and one loss, are second in the MLC 2023 table behind leader Seattle Orcas.
