The much-awaited clash between India and New Zealand at Dharamsala is turning out to be quite an intense affair with the match evenly balanced after India lost half of their side in their bid to chase down 274 posted by the Kiwis. The fifth wicket of Suryakumar Yadav who is playing his first match of the World Cup 2023 has especially stunned Indian fans as it included a big mix-up between SKY and none other than Virat Kohli.

The disaster for India happened in the 34th over, when India needed 83 runs to win with six wickets in hand. It was a fullish delivery on off from ‘round the wicket by Trent Boult and Suryakumar Yadav drove it to covers. Mitchell Santner at covers did a brilliant job by diving full-length to his left to stop it and then immediately somehow threw it to Trent Boult. In the meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav had already called for a run and almost reached towards the bowler’s end with Virat Kohli at the other end, hesitant to take off after taking some initial steps forward. Trent Boult seeing this big mix-up picked up a slow throw by Santner and threw it to the batter’s end and SKY who tried to get back to batter’s end was nowhere in the picture as Tom Latham whipped the bails off in a flash.

It evoked a shocking look on Kohli’s face as Suryakumar Yadav walked off in disbelief with Kiwi camp overjoyed and all pumped to defeat India again after the epic win in the 2019 World Cup semifinal.
