Babar Azam was recently excluded from Pakistan's T20I side, but he is still a key member of the ODI team and has started training with his mates. The former Pakistan skipper has been at the centre of criticism in the last couple of years because of his indifferent performances, and strike-rate issues, and he would be looking to address that on the New Zealand tour.
Pakistan Players Perform Namaaz In Training For New Zealand Tour
This is also the month of Ramzan, and most of the Pakistan players are religiously seen following the rituals of the sacred month. Now, a video is going viral where many of the Pakistan players selected in the ODI squad are performing Namaaz.
Babar Azam arrives late for Namaaz, but then performs the required rituals perfectly and showed great respect with etiquettes. The group also played a practice match where Babar Azam batted well while Mohammad Rizwan was cleaned up by Mohammad Wasim Jr.
The form of both the players is key for the growth of Pakistan cricket and they would need to show their mettle on the upcoming New Zealand tour. The Men in Green under Rizwan recently got eliminated in the group stage of Champions Trophy while they also got knocked out early in T20 World Cup 2024.
Rizwan and Babar have been dropped from the T20I side and they would be looking to prove a point with a big performance in the ODI series. It will start on March 29, while Babar Azam recently participated in the National T20 Cup as well, where he failed to make an impact.
