After Sarfaraz Khan and KL Rahul, Virat Kohli became the third Indian batter to have developed an injury before the first Test against Australia in Perth. Led by Rohit Sharma, the Indian team will face the hosts in five Test matches Down Under, with the Perth Stadium hosting the opening affair.

Virat Kohli Taken For Scans Amid India's Practice Match

However, in a concerning development for India, their talismanic batter Virat Kohli apparently developed an unspecified injury, as the Sydney Morning Herald reported. The batter was immediately taken for scans before participating in the intra-squad practice match at the WACA in Perth.

It's worth mentioning that the incident took place on Thursday, and Kohli's injury didn't prevent him from playing the intra-squad match simulation. However, the right-handed batter couldn't contribute much with the bat, managing only 15 runs in the warm-up match.

Sarfaraz Khan Stable, KL Rahul Sustains Elbow Injury

Among other Indian players, middle-order batter Sarfaraz Khan is reported to be stable after getting hit on his elbow during a net session. Although the batter looked in discomfort, the injury wasn't severe, and he didn't undergo an MRI scan.

However, in a recent development, India's experienced batter KL Rahul walked off the field after a rising delivery struck him on his elbow. Rahul complained of agonising pain and was escorted back to the dugout by one of the physios.

Notably, India will be up against the mighty Aussies in the first Test starting this 22nd at the Perth Stadium. With Rohit Sharma likely to miss the game for personal reasons, the visitors might replace their skipper with either KL Rahul or Abhimanyu Easwaran at the top order.
