Virat Kohli returned back to the Indian Test team, and the fans had high-hopes from the champion batter. However, Kohli failed to deliver the goods and could only score 23 runs in the combined two innings.

Kohli struggles for runs in Chennai Test

In the first innings, Kohli needlessly chased at a sixth-stump delivery which induced an edge and the keeper took a simple catch. In the second innings, Kohli looked solid for his 17 runs, but just when things started to look promising, Kohli missed his flick as the ball clipped the inner part of his blade and thud him on the front-pad.

The umpire gave him out, and Kohli, for some reason didn't review it. The replays suggested that there was a faint-nick as the batter walked off the field without reviewing it. However, it now looks that Kohli is set to seek redemption as he gears up to perform better against the Tigers in the second innings.

Mid-way through India's innings on Day 3, Kohli was seen grinding it out in nets as he looks to get back amongst the run-scorers. The champion batter could be seen leaving delivery outside the off as he prepares for the Bangladesh challenge.

Gill, Pant puts Bangladesh on the verge of defeat

Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant, the two dynamic batters scored brilliant tons to push Bangladesh on the back-foot. This was Pant's 6th Test ton as he equalled MS Dhoni's record, who also had 6 Test centuries under his name.

Bangladesh were set a total of 515, and despite a decent start, they ran out of fuel as Bumrah took the wicket of Zakir Hasan and opened the wicket floodgates. Bad light stopped the play, early on Day 3, but the Tigers were struggling at 158/4, still needing 357 runs to win the game.
