England beat India by 28 runs in the first Test of the five-match series at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad, to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

While Team India lacked in both batting and bowling fronts, another aspect they sorely missed on the field was the energy and presence of their former captain, Virat Kohli.

The Indian batting powerhouse, initially part of the five-match series against England, withdrew from the first two Test matches citing personal reasons.

Meanwhile, as per Cricbuzz, Virat Kohli is currently out of India, and the BCCI has refrained from providing information about his availability for the remaining series.

Earlier, the BCCI had urged fans not to speculate on the reasons behind Virat Kohli's withdrawal from the first two Test matches—an appeal made directly by Kohli's family.

If Virat Kohli doesn't play the rest of the series, it's going to be a real headache for the hosts, given his incredible record and experience against England, which could have been a huge advantage.

However, one thing looks for sure: the batting maverick seems to be going through a tough phase in his personal life, which has kept him away from social media as well. There is uncertainty over the availability of the likes of Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul and Mohammed Sham too, and India surely have a tough task on their hand with England looking confident in their approach.

The selectors are likely to hold a meeting to pick the squad for the remaining three Test matches very soon. It will be interesting to see whether Virat Kohli makes it to the squad or not.
