India's cricket superstar Virat Kohli is leaving no stone unturned in preparation for the second and final Test against Bangladesh, set to take place at Green Park in Kanpur on 27 September. A video shared on social media platform X on 25 September revealed Kohli practicing intensely, showing his dedication and determination to bounce back after recent challenges.
In the first Test of the series, held in Chennai, Kohli's return to the Test format after an eight-month hiatus didn’t go as planned. The star batter managed only 17 runs, continuing his struggles in the longest format of the game. Kohli's form in Test cricket has been a concern for some time, and his latest outing did little to silence critics.
Despite his performance, India dominated the match, winning by a staggering 280 runs, thanks to impressive contributions from Ravichandran Ashwin, who scored a century (113), and Jasprit Bumrah, who took four wickets in the first innings.
India's second innings saw Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant stepping up with centuries, scoring 119* and 109, respectively. Ashwin once again proved his worth with the ball, taking six wickets, while Ravindra Jadeja contributed both with the bat (scoring 86) and ball, picking up three wickets.
Focus On Virat Kohli In The 2nd Test Against Bangladesh
As Kohli gears up for the second Test in Kanpur, all eyes will be on how he handles the spinner-friendly conditions. The pitch at Green Park is expected to favour spinners, which has been a tricky aspect for Kohli recently. However, the overcast weather conditions may provide some assistance to seamers, offering a balanced challenge for the Indian team.
While Kohli has faced difficulties with spin in recent years, there's hope that his hard work and relentless practice sessions will pay off in Kanpur. Many fans are optimistic that the experienced batter can push through and potentially score around 40 or 50 runs, which would boost his confidence going forward.
