The latest ICC batting rankings have brought significant changes. India's star batting duo Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli slipped five places, while Yashasvi Jaiswal broke into the Top 5 with 751 points.
Star batsmen Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma both saw a notable decline, with each slipping five spots. Kohli, after a disappointing performance in the recent Chennai Test against Bangladesh, has dropped out of the top 10, managing only 23 runs across two innings. This marks a rare setback for the experienced player, whose consistent presence in the top ranks has been a hallmark of his career.
Rohit Sharma, similarly, has struggled, falling from 5th to 10th place in the rankings. With just 11 runs in the Chennai Test, Rohit now finds himself on the brink of losing his top 10 spot entirely.
Amidst this, the rising star Yashasvi Jaiswal has delivered a remarkable performance, breaking into the Top 5 with 751 rating points. His composed half-century in challenging conditions against Bangladesh helped him leap one spot, overtaking several top players in the rankings. Jaiswal is now only six points behind Australian great Steve Smith and nine points behind New Zealand star batter Daryl Mitchell.
Rishabh Pant Returns To Test Cricket
Adding to the excitement, Rishabh Pant, who returned to Test cricket after two years, has also made a significant impact. His century in the second innings and a solid 39 in the first propelled him into sixth place in the ICC rankings. His aggressive yet calculated approach has earned him a well-deserved spot in the top 10.
