Kohli eyes domestic season for 2027 World Cup preparation

Virat Kohli recently oozed his class in the home ODI series against South Africa. Although the legendary cricketer registered two consecutive ducks in the Australia tour, he bounced back remarkably by slamming a half-century in the dead-rubber in Sydney, helping India avoid an embarrassing whitewash.

He followed it up with an outstanding series against South Africa, emerging as India's most successful batter.

Although he showed exemplary form, scoring 302 runs in just three innings at an average of 151 and a strike rate of 117.05, the BCCI has apparently asked him to feature in the domestic circuit to keep himself match-ready amid preparations for the 2027 World Cup.

Talking about Virat Kohli's Vijay Hazare Trophy career, he has played twelve matches across two seasons in the tournament. Although he starred with the bat, averaging a whopping 69.36, Kohli couldn't guide Delhi to the title in either of the seasons.
