South Africa flogged hosts India by 51 runs in the second T20I to level the five-match series 1-1. Quinton de Kock delivered the headline performance for the Proteas through his fiery half-century. 

Here, we take a look at the entire highlights of the second T20I of the five-match series between India and South Africa, as it panned out at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Stadium in Mullanpur on Thursday, December 11.

Quinton de Kock fuels South Africa up to 213 as Arshdeep goes awry

South African opener Quinton de Kock smeared 90 runs off just 46 balls with five fours and seven huge sixes to top-score in the innings. After Varun Chakravarthy knocked over Reeza Hendricks for just eight off 10, Quinton shared an attacking 83-run partnership with captain Aiden Markram (29 off 26) before the latter got holed out by Axar Patel off the Indian spinner.

Patel dismissed Dewald Brevis for 14, while Chakravarthy unfurled the spell of the high-scoring innings with figures of 2-29. For South Africa, Donovan Ferreira (30* off 16) and David Miller (20* off 12) compounded 50 runs together from just 28 balls as the visitors mounted 213-4 in 20 overs. Indian pacers Arshdeep Singh (0-54) and Jasprit Bumrah (0-45) both failed to pick up a single wicket in the evening from their eight combined overs, leaking 99 runs in the process.

Baartman, Jansen outmatch Tilak Varma as South Africa win big

Chasing 214, Indian opener Shubman Gill fell for a first-ball duck to Lungi Ngidi, before Marco Jansen removed Abhishek Sharma for just 17 with a searing delivery. Axar Patel made 21 at run-a-ball, and captain Suryakumar Yadav failed to get going as India slipped to 67-4 at one stage of the innings.

Tilak Varma at number five top-scored with 62 from 34 balls, and Jitesh Sharma smeared 27 off 17 but Team India bundled out for just 162 in 19.1 overs to fall 51 runs short of their target. For South Africa, fast bowlers Marco Jansen (2-25), Lutho Sipamla (2-46) and Lungi Ngidi (2-26) picked up two wickets each, while Ottneil Baartman delivered tight figures of 4-24 as South Africa levelled the five-match series.
