Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and his wife, Bollywood actress Anuskha Sharma have received their respective invitations to attend the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22.

While the much-awaited religious event is expected to be attended by several prominent Indian personalities, it remains to be seen if Kohli will be visiting the same considering Team India is scheduled to face England in the first Test of their five-match series on January 25 in Hyderabad.

Quite recently, former Indian cricketers and all-time greats MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar also received their invitations from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.

Virat, Anushka invited for Ram Mandir inauguration

On Tuesday, roughly a week prior to the Ram Mandir inauguration ceremony, Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma were spotted receiving their invitation to attend the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of the sacred Hindu temple.

On the cricketing front, Virat Kohli will soon be facing England in a grueling home Test series shortly after the Ram Mandis ceremony.

The BCCI recently announced India’s 16-player squad for the first two Tests against England. Kohli, currently playing against Afghanistan in T20Is, starts out as one of the senior members of the squad alongside captain Rohit Sharma, all-rounders Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja and speedster Jasprit Bumrah.

The series against England will commence on January 25 at the iconic Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.
