Vaibhav Suryavanshi tonks sixth fastest T20 ton in Rising Stars Asia Cup
India A opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi bludgeoned a 32-ball century for India A against UAE in the second match of the 2025 Men’s Rising Stars Asia Cup in West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha. The innings marked the joint-second fastest men’s T20 century by any Indian, and the joint-sixth fastest overall in the history of the sport. In all, Vaibhav Suryavanshi clattered 144 runs from 42 balls with 11 fours and 15 huge sixes as India A mounted a match-winning total of 297-4 in 20 overs upfront.
Jasprit Bumrah humbles South Africa with record five-fer
Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah humbled South Africa on Day 1 of the series-opening first Test at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The speedster picked up five wickets in the innings as South Africa folded up for just 159 in 55 overs. With figures of 5-27, Jasprit Bumrah snared his 16th five-fer in Tests to claim fifth position among Indian bowlers with the highest number five-wicket hauls. The legendary fast bowler also became the third most successful pacer for India in Tests against South Africa after Javagal Srinath and Mohammed Shami.
PCB shortlist six cities for PSL expansion before 2026 season
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken a major step in a bid to expand its Pakistan Super League (PSL) ahead of next year’s 2026 edition of the tournament. The board has shortlisted six cities for two picking two new PSL teams. The PCB also confirmed that an independent valuation process of the existing PSL franchises and other commercial assets has already been completed. The valuation was carried out by EY MENA, and the board sent renewal offer letters to the franchises after its completion.
RCB bag new partnership deal for IPL 2026
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) franchise has bagged a new partnership deal with London-based technology company, Nothing. It is worth noting that Qatar Airways stepped down as the sponsors of the IPL 2025 winning team after the tragic Bengaluru stampede incident that took place earlier this year outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The partnership between RCB and Qatar Airways ran between 2023 and 2025 and it was reportedly valued at ₹275 crores.
Meg Lanning hits 90* ahead of WPL auction after Capitals release
Former Australian cricketer Meg Lanning clubbed 90* off 55 balls against Perth Scorchers in match eight of the WBBL 2025-26 season at the Karen Rolton Oval in Adelaide to chart her second successive half-century of the tournament. Lanning’s thunderous knock also occurred mere days after she was released by the Delhi Capitals franchise, despite being one of the most prolific batters in the history of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) since its inauguration.
Meg Lanning smeared 10 fours and three huge sixes as the Melbourne Stars mounted a match-winning total of 173-4 in 20 overs.
