It was an eventful and historic day for Bangladesh cricket, who claimed their second consecutive U-19 Asia Cup title by defeating the Indian side in Dubai by a margin of 59 runs. Putting 198 on board in the finale, the Bangla Tigers stunned India by cleaning them up for just 139 runs.

Previously, last year, Bangladesh defeated the United Arab Emirates in the finals as they clinched the match by a mammoth margin of 195 runs to put their name on the trophy for the first time.

On the other hand, India U-19  lost out on winning the tournament for only the third time in history, with the previous tournaments happening in 2017 and 2023, as they couldn't reach the finals on both occasions.

Also, out of 11 U-19 Asia Cups that have happened so far, Men in Blue have put their hands on the trophy on seven occasions and shared one with Pakistan back in 2012 due to the tied game in the finals.

Bangladesh Overpowers India In The Finale

Scoring an underwhelming 198 batting first, it was widely expected that India would run away with the title-securing victory. However, things changed drastically once the Bangladesh bowlers ran in with the ball and rocked the Indian batting order by picking wickets at regular intervals, claiming their second U-19 Asia Cup title.

Iqbal Hossain Emon and skipper Azizul Hakim Tamim grabbed three each to their name, causing all sorts of problems for the batters. Meanwhile, the Bangladeshi batters somehow managed to reach 198 on the back of decent scores from Rizan Hossan and Mohammad Shihab James.
