It was a day that Australia would consider theirs as India were shot out for 180 in the first innings of the day-night pink ball Test in Adelaide. After this, the Aussies then consolidated their position by frustrating the Indian bowlers with their resilience at the crease.

However, there was one person who did not let that play much on the minds of the visiting bowlers, and it was none other than Virat Kohli. The Indian superstar continued motivating the pacers with his words while also extending his support to the skipper Rohit Sharma, positioned at slips.

Kohli was also seen suggesting different field placements in consultation with the captain, as he often kept running around to ensure the batters didn't get any undue advantage. Indian pacers were looking to unsettle the opposition with their words and tough bowling, while Virat, standing in the slip cordon, gave the bowlers much-needed encouragement.

On one occasion, Jasprit Bumrah's delivery got past Nathan McSweeney's bat as it shaped away from the batter, creating a sense of excitement among the Indian camp. Standing at second slip, Kohli walked towards the batter and uttered, "He got no clue, Jass!" in the young batter's ear to put him under pressure.

Australian Bowlers Bowl India Away

Powered by fast and furious Mitchell Starc's best figures in Test cricket, where he claimed six wickets for 48 runs, India were cleaned up for 180 as Nitish Reddy played another fighting knock at the back end of the innings.

The previous game's hero, Yashasvi Jaiswal, failed on the very first delivery of the day as Starc dismissed him LBW. Meanwhile, others couldn't even touch the 40-run mark as batting proved difficult against the pink ball.

In reply, the Aussies lost just one wicket by the end of the day, with McSweeney and Marnus Labuschagne still unbeaten after grinding it out against the lethal Indian pacers during twilight. Australia managed to put up 86 on the board as they still trail by 94 runs.
