[Watch] Bangladesh U19 Commit Comedy Of Errors; India Get Lifeline In Asia Cup Final

India U19 and Bangladesh U19 are playing in the crucial final match of the Asia Cup 2024 final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The defending champions are presenting a tough challenge to the Indian youngsters as they are fighting hard to defend their title.

Notably, India won the toss ahead of the game and opted to field first. MS James and Rizan Hossan stabilised a struggling Bangladesh batting line up and propelled the team towards a fighting total. Whil Hossan scored 47 runs off 65 deliveries, James scored 40 runs off 67 balls. It was for the effort of this duo, that Bangladesh reached a challenging total before being bundled out in the last over of their innings.

The Indian team would have hoped for a good start from their in-form top order in pursuit of this total. However, things did not turn out as per expectations as the two Indian openers fell pretty quickly. C Andre Siddarth also followed the openers and India were struggling at 44/3 within the 12th over of the innings.  

Bangladesh Commit Rookie Blunder On The Field

It was at this stage that the skipper of the Indian team, Mohammad Amaan and Karthikeya KP came together in the middle. The duo looked to build the innings and stabilise the proceedings for the team. While the partnership was flourishing, we saw the Bangladesh team commit a comedy of errors on the field. 

On the last delivery of the 13th over, Iqbal Hossain Emon bowled a fullish delivery to Mohammad Amaan. The batter pushed the delivery to onside and was looking for a single, however, the fielder ran up and collected the ball. The hesitation between the two batters meant that they both ended up on the same side of the pitch. It was a golden chance for Bangladesh to get a wicket but they messed up the throw and conceded three runs instead.
