It was a day totally dominated by the Aussies, who continued to build their authority from day one by extending their score to a significant 337 with a massive century coming from Travis Head as he smashed 140 with 17 fours and four sixes.

His fighting performance in the day-night Test at the Adelaide Oval propelled Australia to a gigantic 157-run lead after the conclusion of the first innings. However, on one occasion, in the first innings, when Travis got out, there was a heated exchange between him and the bowler Mohammed Siraj.

Head was cleaned up by Siraj on the fourth delivery of the 82nd over and gave a thorough send-off, with verbal pleasantries exchanged as it left an undeniable mark on the mind of the Aussie.

While speaking to the host broadcaster, Fox Cricket, after the conclusion of day 2's play, Head explained that he praised Siraj for his wonderful delivery that knocked his stumps over. However, the Indian pacer was furious and pointed towards the pavilion, which made Head lose his temper..

The Australian revealed that if they want to play this way and represent themselves like this, then so be it. The left-hander was visibly upset with that as he reacted in a way that the Indians have lost his respect. He said:

"I said well bowled to Siraj, he got a little bit back from me after he pointed me to the shed. Slightly disappointed with the way that transpired. If they want to react like that and that's how they want to represent themselves, then so be it".

India Lose Five By The Close Of Play

By the end of day 2, India who were already behind 157 runs before the start of the innings, lost half their side for 128 as they still trail by 29 runs. Adventurous Rishabh Pant and Nitish Reddy were still at the crease when the day's play was called off.
