Uday Saharan To Captain India U19 In Asia Cup 2023; Here's The Full Squad

Uday Saharan, who was among the reserves in India’s Under-19 squad which won the World Cup in 2022 under Yash Dhull, will captain the young Men in Blue this time, which will take part in the upcoming ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2023, scheduled to take place in the UAE.

Saharan will lead a 15-member squad that has been picked by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), alongside three travelling standby players and four additional reserves.

Hailing from Punjab, Saharan will be the man in charge, with Mahrasthra’s Saumy Kumar Pandey working as his deputy. On the other hand, Aravelly Avanish Rao and Innesh Mahajan have been picked as the squad’s wicket-keeping options.


“The Junior Cricket Committee has picked India’s U19 squad for the upcoming ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2023 to be played in the UAE. Defending champions India are also the most successful side in the tournament having won the trophy eight times," BCCI secretary Jay Shah said in a statement on Saturday while announcing the squad.

The ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2023 will begin on December 8, with India taking on Afghanistan to kick off the proceedings. Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, the UAE, Japan, and Sri Lanka are the other nations who will take part in the competition.

The final of the tournament will take place at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on December 17.
