As expected, Mumbai Indians (MI) have decided to release Jofra Archer and Cameron Green, who were signed for INR 17.5 crore and INR 8 crore, respectively, to make the Hardik Pandya deal happen. Cricbuzz has confirmed the development regarding the five-time champions, who are all set to complete the biggest trade deal in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The fee for Pandya is set at INR 15 crore, and Mumbai Indians will be required to pay it, while Gujarat Titans will gain that amount of funds in their salary cap before they head to auctions, scheduled to take place in Dubai on December 19.

Mumbai Indians will also give the Gujarat Titans extra money to break the release clause of Pandya, who began his journey as an emerging MI youngster before helping the Titans to win the prestigious title in their debut season.

"Whether this transaction is disclosed or kept confidential is ultimately at the discretion of the BCCI and the franchises," the Cricbuzz report read regarding the fee for Pandya.

All trades and cash deals will be announced by Sunday, the last day for retention for every franchise.

Green had a pretty decent IPL 2023 for MI, having aggregated 452 runs in 16 matches at an average of 50.22, coupled with picking up six wickets. But, the Mumbai Indians seem to be left with no choice but to release the tall Aussie all-rounder, given that they need to improve their balance following Hardik’s signing.

Archer, on the other hand, had a forgetful season in IPL 2023. The English fast bowler, who was in magnificent shape for Rajasthan Royals, failed to deliver for Rohit Sharma and Co., having taken two wickets in five matches at an expensive economy rate of 9.50 before travelling back home due to injury concerns.
