Tilak Varma, Prasidh Krishna Dropped? Here's India's Playing XI For 2nd T20I vs Australia

After registering a two-wicket victory in the last-ball thriller in Visakhapatnam, India will lock horns with Australia in the second T20I of the five-match series in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday.

The first match witnessed an absolute run-fest, with the batters from both sides thriving on a flat surface in Vizag. However, barring scintillating knocks from Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan, India had little to celebrate in the batting department. While Ruturaj Gaikwad was run out for a diamond duck, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tilak Varma recorded failures in the high-scoring affair.

Jaiswal smashed two fours and sixes for his breezy eight-ball 21, while Varma scored 12 before being dismissed by Tanveer Sangha.

In his brief career, this was Varma's fourth failure in the last five T20I outings. But as the Indian management backs him to the hilt, we don't see the southpaw being dropped from the playing XI in the second match.

Regarding the bowling department, Prasidh Krishna had an off day, conceding 50 runs in his four-over spell. Ace spinner Ravi Bishnoi also went for plenty, but he will retain his place as he is a solitary leg-spinner in the squad.

So, India might consider Avesh Khan in place of Krishna, who looked completely off in the first T20I at Visakhapatnam. But considering it's just the second game of the five-match series, they could persist with Krishna, hoping for a better performance from him.
