India & Pakistan To Meet In December? Here's What You Need To Know

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has unveiled the entire schedule for the upcoming Under-19 Men’s Asia Cup 2023. The tenth edition of the tournament will be taking place between December 8 and December 17, with all matches scheduled to be hosted by Dubai, UAE.


Under-19 Men’s Asia Cup 2023 schedule released

As many as eight teams will be participating in the Under-19 Men’s Asia Cup 2023, and all competing nations have been divided into two groups of four teams each. Defending champions India have been clubbed alongside Nepal, Afghanistan and arch-rivals Pakistan in Group A.

Group B, on the other hand, consists of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Japan and hosts UAE. It is worth noting that Nepal, UAE and Japan joined the competition owing to the top three rankings (outside regular members) they secured on their path towards the tournament.

The Under-19 Men’s Asia Cup 2023 will kick off with a Group A match between Nepal and Afghanistan on December 8. Three different venues in Dubai have been assigned to stage all 15 matches of the competition, namely the ICC Academy Oval-1, ICC Academy Oval-2 and the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.


Schedule for Under-19 Men’s Asia Cup 2023:

Cricket boards are yet to announce their line-ups, and will be expected to name their 15-player squads in the coming weeks.

Launched in 1989 in Bangladesh, the upcoming Under-19 Men’s Asia Cup 2023 marks the tenth edition of the tournament. Team India trounced Sri Lanka in a lop-sided final of the 2021 edition to bag their eighth title, thus extending their dominance at the continental event.

The only instance where Team India failed to conquer the Under-19 Asia Cup occurred back in 2017, when Afghanistan defeated runners-up Pakistan in Malaysia.

Notably, teams like Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have never won a single edition; while Pakistan shared the 2012 trophy alongside India owing to their tied result.
