With just a few days left for the Indian squad to be announced for Champions Trophy 2025, the Indian fans are sweating hard on the fitness of their main-man, Jasprit Bumrah. All eyes will be on Bumrah and whether he'll be fit enough to travel with the Indian squad for the mega event.

The pacer sustained a back spasm during the Sydney Test Vs Australia and he didn't bowl a single delivery in the second innings as the pacer was taken to the hospital for further scans. The test results are still not disclosed yet, but if reports are to be believed, his injury is much more serious than expected, and could be on the border-line to play the first match of India's Champions Trophy campaign.

Will Bumrah play Champions Trophy?

As per reports, if Bumrah has a back spasm, he should be fine to play the first match of the event, however, if it has anything to do with bone injury, the rehab process may take much longer and the star pacer could miss the Champions Trophy.

A back spasm usually takes about couple of weeks to recover, so by the end of the month, Bumrah should be fine to resume his bowling. However, if it is a Grade 1 stress fracture, the injury might take time to heal and his Champions Trophy dream could be over.

Recovering from Grade 1 to Grade 3 stress fracture might take upto one to six months of extensive rehabilitation which could be a worrying sign for the team.

Even the Australian captain, Pat Cummins, in his early cricketing days suffered from back issues and it took him 6 years to make his international comeback, after being sidelined since 2011.
