The Indian team will be keen on repriving themselves quickly after their humiliating defeat in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. However, injuries to a few important players might hamper India's chances during the tournament.

During the last match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, India's major concern was the walking off of Jaspirt Bumrah on the second day of the final Test with a back spasm. With the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 coming up, there will be a few players in the Indian scheme of things whose history with injuries will keep the Indian management concerned. Here are three Indian players who can miss the marquee event because of injury -

The Indian batter is expected to return to the Indian scheme of things for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Shreyas Iyer can bat in the middle order, adding depth and solidity to the line-up. During the ODI World Cup 2023, Iyer made valuable contributions with the bat in the top middle-order. Given his ability to adapt and adjust to match situations, Iyer could be a vital team member in CT 2025.

However, this batter has had a history of often being injured and getting sidelined due to it. One of the significant problems that Iyer has suffered from has been his issues with his back. So, it could be that one of the old injury relapses, and he is ruled out of the tournament for it.

The Indian all-rounder with his ability to change games with both the bat and the ball is an important member of the team's limited overs set-up. Hardik Pandya's dynamic batting in the middle order brings flexibility to how the team approaches a game. Besides this, his bowling is essential for the team. Pandya has the unique ability to be effective for the team at any stage of a game with the ball in hand. In Hardik, India will get a multidimensional and high-utility player. 

However, Pandya has been susceptible to injuries throughout his career. Even during the ODI World Cup 2023, he was sidelined due to an injury. This makes him one of the players who could miss the tournament because of an injury.

1. Jasprit Bumrah

The Indian pacer will be the most important part of India's plans during the tournament. Jasprit Bumrah can be a sheer match-winner with his ability to pick up crucial wickets. However, he suffered back spasms during the fifth and final Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy and as per the latest reports, he might be out of most of the England white ball series. Thus, he could fail to recover before the CT 2025 and not participate in the important tournament.
